Vote Your Beliefs

As Christian what do you at look at choosing a residential candidate? Do you look for someone who is born again or do you look for someone who shares your views or beliefs as a Christian?

I would go with the latter. I am not saying that it is wrong to desire a born again Christian as a President, in fact I am happy that Gorge W. Bush is a born again Christian, but what I am trying to say is that in the case were both candidates are not born again or claim to be born again, the best way to choose will be to choose one that shares your beliefs and values. Values such as :

The Sanctity of Marriage: For example, regardless of who the candidates for President are, I would definitely support the candidate that strives to protect the institution of marriage. Any candidate that supports the re-definition of what marriage is will never get my vote. The Bible tells us that for the course shall a man leave his father and mother and cleave unto his wife and the two shall become one flesh. Gen.2:24.

The Bible also tells us that the Lord destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah because of the sin of homosexuality. Gen.19:4-9. Jude verse 7 tells that Sodom and Gomorrah were given over to sexual immorality and going after “strange flesh” in other words, men lusting with each other and women also. See also Rom.1:26.

Marriage has always and will always be the union between a man and a woman. If God wanted marriage to be between two men, He would have created Adam and Steve. If He intended for marriage to be between two women, he would have made Eve and Yvette. The irony of this is that even the most primitive societies that do not believe in God do not dispute the definition of marriage.

Abortion: Abortion itself is very wrong. It is outright murder. The only time abortion should be allowed in my view is when the life of the mother is in danger. Besides trying to save the life of the mother, I believe abortion should be outlawed. I don’t even want to talk about partial-birth abortion. This is first degree murder! As if abortion is not bad enough, some politicians like John kerry has voted at least three times against parental notification for abortion by a minor. This is simply outrageous. The school has to get a parents permission before they can take your child on a field trip, but they do not need to get parental notification to take your child through major surgery like abortion! Every life is precious to God. God said in Jer.1:5 that before he formed you in the belly, He knew you. Before you came out of the womb, He has called you and sanctified you.

Euthanasia Every life is precious to God. It is not for us to determine when a person should live or die. Any candidate who supports this practice does not deserve to be President.

The list goes on and on. What are your priorities in life? What do you look for in a leader? In choosing in a leader, I believe you should go for the one that shares those values that you can cannot compromise for anything in the world. I have listed mine above. If you look closely at my list, the economy is not on there. The reason the economy is not on there is because Jesus Christ Himself said we should seek first the kingdom of God and it’s righteousness and everything else shall be added. Also, in Luke Chapter 12, Jesus tells us that a man’s life does not consist on the abundance of his possessions. We have become such a materialistic society that we now judge almost everything by our pocket books. This is sad. The Bible tells us that where our treasure is, our hearts will be also.

The elections are just a few weeks away and I urge you to go to the polls and vote your beliefs. When you go to vote, remember that one day, you will stand before God and give an account of your life, yes and your vote also. Whether we believe it or not, we always vote our beliefs. If you are a materialistic person, your idea of a good leader will be someone that shares your values. If you one who desires to see our traditional values preserved and passed on from generation to generation, your idea of a good leader will be someone who shares those values too.
Remember, when you elect someone, you are also electing most of his/her values and beliefs.

DAN RATHER APOLOGIZES

EXCLUSIVE // Mon Sep 20 2004 11:58:02 ET
STATEMENT FROM DAN RATHER:

"Last week, amid increasing questions about the authenticity of documents used in support of a 60 MINUTES WEDNESDAY story about President Bush's time in the Texas Air National Guard, CBS News vowed to re-examine the documents in question—and their source—vigorously. And we promised that we would let the American public know what this examination turned up, whatever the outcome.

Now, after extensive additional interviews, I no longer have the confidence in these documents that would allow us to continue vouching for them journalistically. I find we have been misled on the key question of how our source for the documents came into possession of these papers. That, combined with some of the questions that have been raised in public and in the press, leads me to a point where—if I knew then what I know now—I would not have gone ahead with the story as it was aired, and I certainly would not have used the documents in question.

But we did use the documents. We made a mistake in judgment, and for that I am sorry. It was an error that was made, however, in good faith and in the spirit of trying to carry on a CBS News tradition of investigative reporting without fear or favoritism.

Please know that nothing is more important to us than people's trust in our ability and our commitment to report fairly and truthfully."

Okay, so Dan Rather apologizes. But why am I not impressed? I guess because he has not told us the whole truth such as:
A. Who gave him the memos
B. Why he did not heed the warning of the documents experts
C. How the whole news division could be duped (I don't believe they were they wanted Kerry to win so bad)
D. When he is going to resign for trying to affect the outcome of a Presidential election
E. Why is there no apology to the President whom they tried to malign?

My take on this is that CBS was not deceived, they are sorry they got caught.

UPDATE

On this CBS story, I agree with AllahPundit 100%.

WE WERE DECEIVED Pt.2

Here is the NY Times story.

WE WERE DECEIVED!

Drudge is reporting that "After days of expressing confidence about the documents used in a 60 MINUTES report that raised new questions about President Bush's National Guard service, CBS News officials have grave doubts about the authenticity of the material, network officials said last night, the NEW YORK TIMES is reporting in Monday runs. Developing..."

CBS knew from day one the docs were forged, but they wanted the story to be true so bad, that they threw caution to the wind. Sorry, they were not deceived instead, they tried to deceive the public.

Saddam Had ties to Al Qaeda

Iraqi Prime Minister Iyad Allawi is quoted as saying that Saddam had ties to Al Qaeda and other terriorist groups. You can read his interview with the BBC here

Dan Rather goes to Texas to interview Bill Burkett

Just read that Dan Rather is in Texas to interview Mr. Burkett the guy who everyone belives is the source for the fake memos. Why does CBS think anyone will ever trust Dan Rather? Why has CBS not released the documents to independent documents experts for review?

This story is far from over.

Rathergate

The case of the forged documents is just getting more bizarre. I don't know why CBS needed so many experts to verify the documents. Frankly, you don't need to be an expert to know that the docs in questions were not typed in the 70s also, all they had to do was get some of Col. Killian's notes from the President's file and compare with what they had at hand. Just like the Washington post did here.

I guess they just could not wait to "nail" Bush and sway the election to Kerry. I really love the way Allah Pundit laid out this story. You can read it here.

The Bible tells us to do what ever we do to the glory of God. After all these years in broadcasting, Dan Rather is going to end his career in shame just because he was more interested in pushing his own selfish desires that doing his job.

Some Humor from Scrappleface

CBS Reveals Copies of Kerry Senate Documents
(2009-09-16) -- CBS reporter Dan Rather plans to reveal copies of documents on tonight's Evening News that demonstrate that John Forbes Kerry may have sought to evade service in the U.S. Senate due to his privileged position as a presidential candidate.

The documents, all dated within the past year, show a record of scores of missed votes and missed committee hearings. In addition, copies of payroll records appear to indicate that Mr. Kerry continued to draw his senate salary during the time of his absense, according to an unnamed CBS source.

Mr. Kerry responded to the allegations by saying, "Is there any American who still trusts Dan Rather?"

"Mr. Rather is a Texan like President Bush," said Mr. Kerry. "This is just another mean-spirited partisan attack orchestrated by Karl Rove with the cooperation of the biased media. Mr. Bush doesn't want to talk about substantive issues, like how I defended this country as a young man in Vietnam."

NEW MOVEON.ORG AD SHOWS DEFEATED U.S. SOLDIER...

In a new ad in support of John Kerry, moveon.org has a new ad that shows a defeated American soldier surrendering to the terriorist.......Unbelievable!

Bob Dole Responds

This response was from Kerry Spot

Senator Bob Dole issued the following statement:

“As Chairman of the Bush-Cheney Veterans Coalition, and as a veteran, I call on John Kerry to demand that MoveOn.org take down their ad depicting a defeated American soldier.
It’s one thing to debate whether we should take the fight to the terrorists, but depicting an American soldier in effect surrendering in the battle against the terrorists is beyond the pale.

I cannot believe that John Kerry, who reminds us daily of his Vietnam service, would possibly approve the disgusting and demoralizing portrayal of American soldiers fighting for us in Iraq, Afghanistan and around the world.

John Kerry has raised doubts about our troops' ability to maintain security as well as Iraqi's ability to decide their own future through elections. He has called the allies in Iraq "window dressing." This is all reminiscent of his appearance before a Senate Committee in 1971 where he suggested with nothing but second hand information American GIs were committing atrocities and war crimes of the worst kind in Vietnam.

This defeatist attitude undermines the great progress and sacrifices of our men and women in the military and the contributions of our allies who are fighting against terror and standing up for freedom around the world.

The politics of pessimism that is being pursued by John Kerry and the extreme liberals demonstrates they are consumed by the past with nothing to offer but attacks on the President's agenda for creating a safer world.

John, say it isn’t so and denounce this latest effort to divide Americans.”

Has any one heard from McCain?

Rathergate continued

This just in from INDC Journal

UPDATE: For what it's worth, Killian's son is disputing the secretary's version of events on Hannity & Colmes. He said that she was a pool secretary, not Killian's personal assistant, and she "wouldn't have insight into that situation."

"I think that they're in way over their heads."

"That's what I find so despicable about this whole thing, that they would use my deceased father (for political purposes)..."

This from Kerry Spot

Drudge reports that the Washington Post is set to report tomorrow that "Documents allegedly written by deceased officer that raised questions about Bush's service with Texas National Guard bore markings showing they had been faxed to CBS News from a Kinko's copy shop in Abilene, Texas... "

BILL BURKETT USES ABILENE KINKOS [09/15 10:50 PM]

The Blogosphere has resources like nobody else.

Blogger and radio talk show host Kevin McCullough:

JUST GOT OFF THE PHONE WITH ABILENE KINKOS: Bill Burkett has a standing account with the Kinkos in Abilene Texas, and while the lady who answered the phone would not be more specific she did say Burkett was in there last week - she waited on him on last (a week ago) Tuesday....

WANT ANOTHER REASON TO SUSPECT BURKETT? [09/15 11:25 PM]

Marion Carr Knox, the secretary to Col. Jerry Killian, President Bush's National Guard commander, this evening, during her interview with Dan Rather:

"And there are words in there that belong in the Army, not to the Air Guard. We never used those terms."
From the Veterans for Peace web site:

Lt. Col. Bill Burkett completed 28 years of decorated service and was medically retired from the US Army National Guard in 1998.

"His Thoughts?"

Let me get this straight. CBs runs a story saying that President Bush received favorable treatment when he was in the gaurd. That Bush disobeyed orders to report for a physical. Then they proceed to back up their story with some memos that was supposed to be written and signed by Bush's commanding officer who is now deceased.

CBS fails to mention that just 3 months prior to the time these "memos" were written, the same commanding officer had written very good reviews about the then Lt. Bush. Then it was discovered that the memos CBS based their story on were forgeries. CBS brings the Late Col Killian's secretary who also confirms that the documents are forgeries. She howevers claims that the content of these forged memos were the the thoughts of her late boss (who is no longer alive to defend himself). However, late Col. Killian's widow and son (who also served in the Air National Guard) claim Col. Killian did not keep personal memos and never worte anything like that. The son also claims that his father had a favorable opinion of the then Lt. Bush.

CBS is trying to get us to buy the story and disregard the forged documents. They are insisting the story is true but the documents are forgeries. Unbelievable!

What Dan Rather fails to report is that the Late Col Killian's secretary is a Kerry supporter and Bush hater. He also wants us to ignore the fact his whole story is based on forged documents. We are supposed to believe the contents of these forged memos reflected the thoughts of Col Killian at that time.
My question is, do these memos really reflect the thoughts of the Late Col. Killian or Dan Rahter's thoguhts?

Experts warned CBS

ABC News with Peter Jennings on their news tonite contacted two experts that CBS had contacted before the 60mins interview. Both experts told ABC news they warned CBS that the documents looked like forgeries and they should desist from using the material. However CBS used the documents anyway and the rest they say is history. They also reported that the late Killians secretary said she never typed the memos.

It is obvious that Dan Rather was out to manipulate an election. He should be held accountable.

Who planted those fake docs?

The kerry campaign was sinking, then a bunch of new people (Clinton's crew) were brought in to help slavage the sinking campaign.

Shortly after they arrived, CBS 60 mins broke a story using documents that are suspected to be forgeries. How did that happen? Do you think the new people might have something to do with it? I don't know........ just a thought

Boston Globe and CBS Lies Exposed!

The Boston Globe ran a story headlined: "Authenticity Backed on Bush Documents." The source relied on for that story was Dr. Philip Bouffard. CBS even quoted the Boston Globe story to back their arguments, but INDC Journal interviewd Dr. Philip Bouffard and he is mad because The Globe misrepresented him. You can read the interview here.

Kerry Campaign Plans to attack Bush in a "Dramatic Way"

These are some excerpts from a New York Times article :

"While Mr. Kerry's longtime friends from Boston privately express frustration that they have been unable to get Mr. Kerry to stand up for himself more, one senior Kerry aide said obliquely that the campaign still planned to address the attacks on Mr. Kerry in a dramatic way.

You have not heard the last from us on this subject," the aide said. Responding to Mr. Bush's suggestion that Mr. Kerry would have left Mr. Hussein in place, a Kerry spokesman, Phil Singer, said the president had "absolutely crossed the line."

Wow! These words sound like something out of a mafia movie. The democrats are so desperate, they are starting to scare me.

You can read the rest of the story here

According to another article, the Abu Ghraib stories was supposed to help Kerry, but it did not.

"In April, Democratic activists were agonizing over what they saw as Kerry’s failure to clearly tell voters why they should elect him. Then in late May, in the wake of Abu Ghraib prison abuse furor, Democrats pressed their attack on Bush and seemed confident Kerry would win.

But Kerry was unable to capitalize on the momentum generated by Abu Ghraib. Perhaps it was due to lack of focus on the issue of Bush’s competence to conduct the war in Iraq and the war on terrorists. Kerry’s own unforced errors — such as saying he would have voted for using force against Iraq even if he knew there were no weapons of mass destruction there — almost certainly have played a role in his sagging poll numbers."

I thought Abu Graib was about getting the truth out there? I guess not!

You can read the rest of this story here

Since all of these have failed, they have decided to attack in a more "dramatic way" what ever that means I hope it goes the way of the others.

How Dan Rather Got the Docs

The DNC can deny all it wants, but from the onset, I knew they know something about the forged documents. What bothers me the most is the fact that CBS and Dan Rather did not bother to verify the authencity of the documents be fore they went on air. The media is supposed to be object about new, but the main stream media is so biased towards the left especially towards the democratic part that iti si unbelievable.

A supposedly respectable news organization like CBS and a veteran reporter such as Dan Rather received documents accusing the President of the United States of something and they did not even bother to check the facts of their story. The main stream media is so bent on seeing Kerry elected that they have completely lost their minds. Hate is very powerful emotion. This hatred for Bush is driving the left up the wall. At first the extent to which the left would go to ditort the news was laughable, but now it is almost scary. I say almost becuase they no longer control the news media (thank God!).

The American Spectator gives us an insight on to how 60 mins got the information.
You can read the whole story here http://www.spectator.org/dsp_article.asp?art_id=7096

Here is some of it:

More than six weeks ago, an opposition research staffer for the Democratic National Committee received documents purportedly written by President George W. Bush's Texas Air National Guard squadron commander, the late Col. Jerry Killian.

The oppo researcher claimed the source was "a retired military officer." According to a DNC staffer, the documents were seen by both senior staff members at the DNC, as well as the Kerry campaign."

More than a couple people heard about the papers," says the DNC staffer. "I've heard that they ended up with the Kerry campaign, for them to decide to how to proceed, and presumably they were handed over to 60 Minutes, which used them the other night. But I know this much. When there was discussion here, there were doubts raised about their authenticity."

The concerns arose from the sourcing. "It wasn't clear that our source for the documents would have had access to them. Our person couldn't confirm from what file, from what original source they came from."

The documents that CBS News used were not documents from any of Bush's personnel files from his time in the National Guard. Rather, CBS News stated that they were documents uncovered in the personnel files of Killian. That would explain why the White House or the Pentagon had never before released or even seen them.

According to a Kerry campaign source, there was little gossip about the supposedly hot documents inside the office of the campaign on McPherson Square. "Those documents were not something anyone was talking about or trying to generate buzz on," says the staffer. "It wasn't like there were small groups of people talking about this as a bombshell. I think people here weren't sure what to make of it, because provenance of these documents was uncertain."

A CBS producer, who initially tipped off The Prowler about the 60 Minutes story, says that despite seeking professional assurances that the documents were legitimate, there was uncertainty even among the group of producers and researchers working on the story.

The problem was we had one set of documents from Bush's file that had Killian calling Bush 'an exceptionally fine young officer and pilot.' And someone who Killian said 'performed in an outstanding manner.' Then you have these new documents and the tone and content are so different.

The CBS producer said that some alarms bells went off last week when the signatures and initials of Killian on the documents in hand did not match up with other documents available on the public record, but producers chose to move ahead with the story. "This was too hot not to push. If there were doubts, those people didn't show it," says the producer, who works on a rival CBS News program.

Now, the producer says, there is growing concern inside the building on 57th Street that they may have been suckered by the Kerry campaign. "There is a school of thought here that the Kerry people dumped this in our laps, figuring we'd do the heavy lifting on the story. That maybe they had doubts about these documents but hoped we'd get more information," says the producer. "If that's the case, then we're bigger fools than we already appear to be judging by all the chatter about how these documents could be forgeries."

There are some questions that Dan Rather needs to address:
1. How did he obtain the memos from the late Col Killian's personal files?
2. Who is the handwriting and document expert who gave the documents a pass?

We need to know the answer to both questions. Both Killians widow and son have deny that the dicuments came form Col Killians personal files, so we would like to know how Dan Rather got those documents.

The is the same Dan Rather who called Florida for Gore in 2000. Mmmm, something smells fishy here.

A word is Enough for The Wise

We learnt that before former President Clinton went under the knife, he spent over an hour on the phone with Senator Kerry (did you know he served in Vietnam?) advicing him on how to get his sagging campaign up. The center peice of the advice in a nut shell was that Senator Kerry should talking about Vietnam. When I read that, I thought to my self "did anyone really have to tell him that?". Well, I gues so. If he does not talk about Vietnam I thought to my self, what else is he going to talk about?

Any way, the advice was not yet 72 hours old when the whole democratic party spin machines aka the liberal media are all over talking about President's Bush guard record. My first reaction to this was how does this help Kerry? If nothing else, this will only ensure that Vietnam stays in fore front of the news until election day. This will defintely hurt Senator Kerry since we know that the swift boat vets ad was very successful and the Senator still does not have an explanation for his Christmas in Cambodia story and besides, he keeps changing his position on every issue. On August 30, 2001, Senator Kerry told Meet the Press that we should spend what ever it takes to win the war in Iraq. Today he says, the $200B spoent so far is a waste.

Senator Kerry needs to keep his stories straight, and take Bill Clinton's advice and leave Vietnam alone. A word is enough for the wise.

A Common Enemy

There is a saying that nothing brings and binds people together like a common enemy. This obviously describes the Kerry supporters. They are united in their common hatred for Bush. Frankly, this is what scares me most about this election. The fact that Kerry might win not because the people who intend to vote for him think he is a better leader, as a matter of fact, poll after poll show that majority of Americans believe that George Bush is a better leader that Kerry. However, the fact remains that John Jerry might win because his supporters want anybody but Bush.

But the more closely I read the polls, the more I am more confused as to how this could be a "dead heat".

Kerry supporters definitely want anyone but Bush, but the majority of American see Bush as a better leader than Kerry. Most Kerry supporters (55%) are only voting against Bush and not for Kerry, while most Bush supporters (80%)are voting for Bush and not against Kerry.source

But can anyone explain why Kerry got no bounce after his convention? As a matter of fact, according to the Gallup poll released a few days after his convention, he actually lost some ground to Bush.

Bush on the other hand, got a good 11 point bounce after his convention. According to Time and Newsweek.

This is how the electoral map now looks

I guess hate is not enough and I certainly hope it will not be enough to drive people to the polls. As one Kerry supporter told me "I don't like Bush but we simply cannot afford an unstable leader at such a time as this". I say Amen!

Last Lap

I haven't blogged here since early July and it seems like an eternity. I have been watching this presidential race and frankly, I am enjoying every bit of it.

The president got his convention bounce alright. He has an 11 point lead over Senator Kerry. Senator Kerry on the other hand did not get any bounce from his convention. As if that was not bad enough, his numbers have dropped considerably in the last month. His sagging numbers have been attributed to the swift boat ads. I beg to disagree. I think Kerry's sagging numbers have little to do with the swift vets and a lot to do with Kerry himself.

Besides the fact that we know that Senator Kerry served in Vietnam and at one time supported the war in Iraq, but is now against the war, most voters out there do not know anything else about senator kerry. In the weeks leading to the Democratic conventions, Kerry's supporters said the reason the polls show a dead heat is because voters still do not know anything about Kerry. He was supposed to introduce himself to voters at the convention. I watched the Democratic conventions and frankly, did not see a different Kerry.

The whole convention was based on his Vietnam service and how the President lied to take the country to war since we could find the WMDs. Then later, Kerry tells us that knowing what he knows now, he still would have gone to war against Iraq.

Anyone who watched Kerry's acceptance speech did not see any plan for the future of the country. Once again, we were reminded that Kerry was fit to be commander in cheif because he served in Vietnam.

In my view, nobody is to blame for where Senator Kerry(did you know he served in vietnam?) is right now but Kerry himself.
